Every year, Chesham & District Amateur Radio Society sets up a demonstration radio station at Brill Windmill over the second weekend in May, in support of the national “Mills on the Air” event. We use the special event callsign GB0BWM, issued to CDARS by Ofcom.

This year we operated from Brill Windmill on Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th May 2021.

We we operated one station on the ground floor of the Windmill, and one on the first floor in order to comply with government COVID restrictions. The ground floor station was mainly on 3.5MHz (80m) with come operation on 7MHz (40m). The first floor station was on 144MHz (2m), mainly FM with a few QSOs on SSB.

Brill Windmill is not open to visitors for the time being due to the ongoing COVID situation, but the Brill Society hopes that they will able to welcome visitors again soon. You can read more about Brill Windmill HERE.
